If you are trying to open a Project in SDL Trados Studio 2017, but Trados keeps saying that the Project is already opened when it isn't, here is the solution: check if in "Projects" view (upper left corner), all sections:

* Status

* Due date

* Type

read "Show all projects" (see below image).

I purchased the IATE Translation Memory for 5 euros to use it with my new SDL Trados CAT tool...but the TM downloaded with a MemoQ icon, and when I click on it, it automatically opens MemoQ.  How can I get this TM to link with my Trados program?

When you get angle quotes (») instead of straight style quotes (") after pressing the quotation mark key (shift+2), proceed as follows in order to disable the angle quotes:

Go to Menu Translation > AutoCorrect and disable the option "Replace straight quotes with smart quotes" checkbox.

The best way to do this is to create a Language Resource Template.

Go to "Translation Memories" view and right click on "Language Resource Templates" located on the left-hand side on the top of the screen. Click "New Language Resource Template", specify segmentation rules, abbreviations etc. and save. The created template can be applied to any TM.

During return package creation, Trados Studio automatically starts Microsoft Outlook. If you don't need this functionality, proceed as follows:

1. Open MS Outlook.

2. There is a prompt asking you to set an email for your Outlook: decline and proceed by choosing to use Outlook without any email account.

3. Click finish button and close the Outlook.

Since then, every time you will create a return package, the Studio will never call the Outlook again.
