Guide to TTMEM.com's translation memories |
Translation Memory is a type of database that keeps track of previous translations to save translators' time. TTMEM.com's translation memories work as personal dictionaries/glossaries in .tmx format. The more translation units a translation memory contains, the faster term research is and the faster you can translate the content. TTMEM.com's staff produces translation memories grouped into specific fields. During the translation memory creation process, our staff tries to collect as many terms as possibile with all the resources available on the Web in the given field at their disposal. After the alignment process, TTMEM.com's translation memories are subject to strict controls to reduce potential alignment errors. Our strong point is reorganisation of translation memories, reduction to minimize duplicates and frequent updates of available translation memories. |
YOU SHOULD REMEMBER THAT our memories rarely give you 100% matches, but thanks to concordance research, by selecting a "problematic word" in the source text, you can find its translation in the target language. If you use our translation memories in the correct way, you can make the time needed for terminology research two times shorter. Below you can find out how to make the most of TTMEM.com's translation memories. |
